About Korean Chiles & Spices

Korean cooking needs red chile, garlic and sesame in volume. Whole kimchi chile is ground coarse for kimchi, kimchi jjigae and spicy marinades. Toasted white sesame seeds finish bibimbap, japchae and namul, and season bulgogi and galbi marinades with chopped garlic and black pepper. Black sesame goes into porridge and rice cakes, pine nuts garnish galbi-jjim and sujeonggwa, and MSG is common in soups and banchan.

Kimchi chile is sold whole, so you control the grind: coarse for kimchi, fine for pastes and seasoning powders. Sesame is sold whole for toasting in-house. Minimum order is 50 lb per product. Collect from our dock at 746 Merchant St, Los Angeles, Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm, or take delivery within LA. Outside Los Angeles, your own freight carrier collects from the dock.
